Founding Product Marketing Lead
Adapt client positioning for Canadian markets, buyers, and verticals while building the voice and commercial assets behind Scale49 itself.
Apply for this role ↓Build a new market. Then do it again.
We are builders at heart, grounded in elite sales craft. Going from 0→1, opening a market without a finished playbook, and turning first signals into a repeatable business is what energizes us. At Scale49, we get to do it again and again.
Our clients are funded companies from the US, Europe, and APAC entering Canada for the first time. We test the market, win the first customers, build the commercial system, scale what works, and eventually hand a functioning Canadian business back to the client. Then we start again.
If you want continuous opportunities to build GTM, sharpen your craft across new verticals, and sell greenfield opportunities without changing companies every two years, Scale49 may be the place for you.
Turn product truth and Canadian market insight into messaging that moves buyers—without ever blurring the boundaries between clients.
You will work closely with Scale49’s founder and the teams deployed against our clients. For each engagement, you will learn the product, market, buyers, and vertical context; localize the positioning for Canada; and arm the sales team with messaging and assets that improve conversations and conversion. You will have a rare cross-client view of what is working, paired with an absolute responsibility to maintain strong confidentiality, information, and asset boundaries between client teams. You will also help build Scale49’s own B2B marketing engine and public voice.
- Develop Canadian positioning, messaging architecture, value propositions, and buyer narratives for each client engagement.
- Translate product capabilities, technical detail, and market research into clear customer language and commercial outcomes.
- Partner directly with deployed sales teams to improve discovery narratives, talk tracks, decks, one-sheets, battle cards, objection handling, and account-specific materials.
- Segment messaging by Canadian buyer, vertical, use case, and stage of market maturity rather than simply adapting global copy.
- Build rapid feedback loops with sales and customers; test messaging in-market and revise based on direct signal.
- Create customer stories, market insights, launch materials, competitive intelligence, and sales-enablement assets.
- Maintain strict separation of confidential information, strategy, learnings, and assets across client teams while developing reusable Scale49 methods and templates.
- Own and improve Scale49’s website, LinkedIn presence, company one-sheets, pitch decks, and other B2B assets.
- Help establish Scale49’s founder and company voice across LinkedIn and X through a consistent editorial and distribution system.
- Create an organized content and asset library with clear ownership, version control, permissions, and client boundaries.
- Proven B2B product marketing experience across positioning, messaging, sales enablement, content, launches, customer marketing, or competitive intelligence.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to preserve a founder’s voice while making ideas sharper and more useful.
- Evidence that you can translate complex or technical products into credible narratives for both executive and operational buyers.
- Experience partnering closely with sales teams and using field feedback to improve messaging and commercial assets.
- Strong generalist range—you can move from strategy to a finished deck, webpage, one-sheet, post, or battle card without waiting for a large team.
- Excellent judgment with confidential information and the operational discipline to maintain hard boundaries between client workstreams.
- Comfort learning new products, categories, buyer groups, and verticals quickly.
- A builder mindset: high ownership, low ego, strong taste, fast execution, and comfort working without a finished playbook.
- Fluency with modern content, design, analytics, collaboration, and AI-enabled marketing tools.
- First 30 days: Learn Scale49’s voice and operating model, establish client-boundary and asset-management practices, and audit active messaging and materials.
- By 90 days: Deliver sharper Canadian positioning and sales assets for active clients, establish field-feedback loops, and launch a consistent Scale49 content cadence across LinkedIn and X.
- Within 6–12 months: Build a repeatable product-marketing system that improves sales conversion across engagements, produces strong client-specific asset libraries, and establishes a recognizable Scale49 point of view in the market.
- We push inputs aggressively, then turn one-to-one effort into one-to-many and one-to-ten output.
- We build sales flywheels and rapidly reinvent the GTM based on direct internal and external signals.
- Relationships open doors and accelerate deals; our real advantage is knowing when to use Challenger, consultative, Sandler, and other methods to move a buyer forward.
- We operate comfortably in highly ambiguous, low-support environments without sacrificing action, judgment, or speed.
- We document what works so every win makes the next market easier to build.
